What is this?
- We have created a new mod for Joint Ops: JO:TAC. With the JO:TAC Launcher you play this new mod.
- There is also an alternative way to play online via a new “Online” function.
Why did you do this?
- Many people bought the game on Steam but cannot play on NovaWorld, because the account registration is broken. With this mod they can now play multiplayer with everyone else.
- Installing the game and getting the mods running used to be a hassle. Now there is one easy way for everyone.
What is the new Online feature?
- It keeps Joint Ops playable even when the NovaWorld servers are down.
- You don’t need a NovaWorld account and you don’t need to log in to play with the Online function.
- Ping should be much better, as we doubled the UDP packet stream.
Are you allowed to do this at all?
- We ask players to buy an official copy of Joint Operations on Steam.
- We only release Joint Operations: Tactical Assault Coalition (JO:TAC) if THQ Nordic knows about it and supports it.
- Joint Ops already works with GameRanger. We use the same kind of system as GameRanger, just easier for the player.
What else are you up to?
- If we get enough players, we are considering a central US-based server.
- We have more new features in mind, but first we need the OK from THQ.
How do I get updates?
- The launcher installs new updates automatically. Every change is listed in the changelog.
